FAQ

This page collects quick answers to questions that come up often — the kind you need answered in the middle of a working day, not after reading a full guide. Each answer links to the guide page that covers the full detail.

You (or someone) got the password wrong 5 times in a row. Logistall locks an account after 5 failed sign-in attempts, for 15 minutes — this is a security measure, not something an administrator turns on or off per user.

To get back in, either:

  1. Wait — the lockout clears automatically once the 15 minutes pass, or
  2. Reset your password — completing a password reset clears the lockout immediately.

See Getting Started → Account lockout.

I lost access to my two-factor authenticator app — what do I do?

Section titled “I lost access to my two-factor authenticator app — what do I do?”

If you still have one of your saved recovery codes (the xxxx-xxxx codes shown when you first enabled 2FA), enter it instead of a 6-digit code on the sign-in screen — each one works once.

If you’ve used all of them or never saved them, you’ll need an administrator to help restore your access, since Logistall doesn’t offer a self-service way to bypass 2FA without either a code or a recovery code.

See Getting Started → Two-factor authentication.

Why don’t I see a Delete (or Edit) button on some records?

Section titled “Why don’t I see a Delete (or Edit) button on some records?”

Buttons for actions you can’t perform simply don’t render — Logistall doesn’t show a disabled button, it hides it. What you see depends entirely on your role’s permissions (or, for some users, per-user overrides on top of their role). For example, a Dispatcher can create and edit shipments but has no finance access at all, while a Viewer can’t create or edit anything.

If something is missing that you think you should have, ask an administrator to check your role or permissions — they can compare what you see against your role from the Users page. See Users & Roles.

Section titled “Is the public tracking link safe to share — what does the customer see?”

Yes — the public tracking link (generated from a shipment’s Share button) deliberately shows only the shipment’s status, transport mode, origin/destination cities, scheduled dates, and the tracking timeline. It never exposes customer or carrier names, addresses, or any pricing, and no sign-in is required to view it.

Scenario: a customer wants their own consignee to follow the delivery. You can pass the link along freely — the consignee sees where the load is, and nothing about your pricing or the parties involved.

See Shipments → Sharing a public tracking link.

How do I change which currency amounts are displayed in?

Section titled “How do I change which currency amounts are displayed in?”

Logistall stores every financial record in whatever currency it was actually entered in (MAD by default), and a currency picker lets you choose a different display currency for the whole app.

See Finance → Currency.

How do I change the app’s language, or use Arabic?

Section titled “How do I change the app’s language, or use Arabic?”

Use the language control (a globe icon) at the bottom of the sidebar. Logistall is available in English, French, and Arabic — switching to Arabic also switches the layout to right-to-left. See Getting Started → Language & theme.

Who can see financial data like invoices, carrier bills, and margins?

Section titled “Who can see financial data like invoices, carrier bills, and margins?”

Finance access depends on role:

  • Company Owner, Data Admin, and Accountant all have finance access. The Accountant is read-only on the margin figures, but can create/edit invoices, carrier bills, and expenses.
  • Dispatcher and Viewer have no finance access at all.
  • Trucker doesn’t see the regular app.

If you need finance visibility for someone whose role doesn’t normally include it, an administrator can grant it as a per-user override rather than changing their whole role. See Users & Roles.

Why does a new expense stay “pending” — how does approval work?

Section titled “Why does a new expense stay “pending” — how does approval work?”

Every new expense starts at pending status regardless of what you enter when you create it — only a Company Owner or Data Admin can approve or reject it. If your expense is sitting at pending, it’s simply waiting for one of them.

For the approver: Approve/Reject buttons appear directly on pending rows in the Expenses table. Once approved, an expense can later be marked reimbursed from its edit form.

See Finance → Driver expenses & the approval workflow.

How do borrowed vehicles work, and where do I record one?

Section titled “How do borrowed vehicles work, and where do I record one?”

The All Fleet page tracks both vehicles you own and vehicles currently borrowed from carriers, with an Ownership badge showing which is which.

  1. On the All Fleet page, select Borrow Truck to record a new borrowing.
  2. Choose the vehicle, the carrier it’s borrowed from, dates, a daily rate, and a purpose.
  3. When the vehicle goes back, use Mark Returned to close it out.

See Fleet → Your vehicles vs. borrowed vehicles.

API keys live on the API Keys page, reached from the Admin section of the sidebar.

This page only appears if the API Access feature module is turned on for your company and you have the necessary permission (Company Owner by default). See Organization Settings → Feature toggles.

Why did a whole section (like Rate Cards or Fleet Map) disappear from my sidebar?

Section titled “Why did a whole section (like Rate Cards or Fleet Map) disappear from my sidebar?”

Two separate things can cause this:

  1. Your role simply doesn’t have read access to that area — in which case it’s just your sidebar. See Users & Roles.
  2. Your company has turned that optional module off entirely for everyone from the Features page — in which case it’s gone from every user’s sidebar, not just yours. See Organization Settings → Feature toggles.
