Scheduling

A driver idling in the yard waiting for a free dock is wasted money on both sides of the door. The Dock Appointments page is where you book loading and unloading time slots at your warehouse locations, so arrivals are spread out and every dock visit has a slot. This page covers booking an appointment, moving it through its lifecycle, and checking for conflicts before you book.

Scenario: a carrier’s truck is due tomorrow at 09:00 to unload an inbound shipment at your Casablanca warehouse. Book the slot today so the dock is reserved and the arrival is on record.

  1. Select Add to book a new appointment.
  2. Set the location — this is required.
  3. Choose the appointment type: inbound (goods arriving) or outbound (goods leaving).
  4. Pick the date and time, and a duration in minutes (15-minute increments, defaulting to 60).
  5. Optionally link the shipment, vehicle, and driver involved, and add free-text notes.
  6. Save. New appointments start at scheduled status.

An appointment moves through scheduled → confirmed → arrived → completed, with cancelled and no-show as alternate outcomes. A typical day at the dock:

  1. The carrier confirms they’re coming — select Confirm on the scheduled appointment’s row.
  2. The truck pulls in — select Arrived on the confirmed appointment.
  3. Loading or unloading finishes — select Complete.

These quick-action buttons appear directly on each row for the next expected step, so you don’t need to open the edit form just to advance a booking. If the truck never shows, set the appointment to no-show instead; if plans change beforehand, cancel it.

Logistall doesn’t have a dedicated calendar or availability picker for dock slots, so checking occupancy is a filtering exercise you do before booking:

  1. Filter the appointments table by status to see active bookings (and exclude cancelled/completed noise).
  2. Search or sort to find the location’s existing appointments around the date and time you’re planning.
  3. If the slot is clear, book it.

Table search, sort, filters, and pagination behave the same as on other list pages — see Searching & filtering tables.
